WhatsApp is enhancing its status feature by increasing the maximum length of video status updates from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. This update is currently available to select Android beta testers and is expected to roll out to more users in the coming weeks .
The extended video duration allows users to share longer, uninterrupted clips, eliminating the need to split content into multiple parts. This change aims to provide a richer storytelling experience for users .
In addition to the video status update, WhatsApp is developing an optional feature that will enable users to reshare and forward status updates. This feature, currently in beta testing, will include a toggle allowing users to control whether their status updates can be shared by others, ensuring user privacy remains a priority .
