TEL AVIV, Israel  — In a dramatic turn in the escalating Middle East crisis, the United States military launched targeted strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran early Sunday, marking a significant intervention in Israel’s ongoing war to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

According to U.S. officials, the coordinated strikes hit facilities in Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz — key pillars of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The attacks signal a bold and risky move by Washington to weaken Tehran’s influence and deter further aggression, but they also raise fears of a broader regional conflict.

Speaking from the White House, President Donald Trump declared the operations a success, claiming the nuclear sites had been “completely and fully obliterated.” He issued a stern warning to Iran against retaliating.

“There will either be peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days,” Trump said in a televised address. “We can strike with precision, speed, and skill — and we will if provoked.”

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization acknowledged the attacks but insisted its nuclear activities would continue undeterred.

“The strikes have not and will not stop our peaceful nuclear program,” a spokesperson stated.

The latest developments come amid heightened tensions across the region, following weeks of clashes and threats between Israel and Iran. Tehran has vowed to respond to any acts of aggression, raising the risk of a broader war that could draw in multiple nations and destabilize the Middle East further.

International observers have urged restraint, with many warning that the situation could spiral beyond control if diplomatic channels are not urgently reopened.
