U.S. President Donald Trump has weighed in on the recent Iranian missile attack on the Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar, calling it a “very weak response” to the U.S. obliteration of Iranian nuclear facilities and declaring that the United States had prior intelligence on the strike. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that the strike caused minimal damage and no casualties.

“Iran has officially responded to our obliteration of their nuclear facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” Trump wrote. “There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.”

Trump confirmed that no U.S. personnel were harmed and “hardly any damage” was recorded. He also stressed the importance of avoiding further escalation: “Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE.”

Trump extended thanks to Iran for what he described as an early warning, which he credited for preventing loss of life. “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,” he added.

The remarks follow reports from U.S. and international media suggesting that the missile strike was a coordinated move with prior notice from Iran. According to The New York Times, Iranian officials notified Qatari authorities ahead of the attack to avoid casualties, aiming to send a symbolic message while maintaining a path to de-escalation.

Trump also praised Qatar’s leadership, specifically commending the Emir for his peace efforts. “I’d like to thank the Highly Respected Emir of Qatar for all that he has done in seeking Peace for the Region,” Trump stated. “In addition to no Americans being killed or wounded, very importantly, there have also been no Qataris killed or wounded.”

He concluded his remarks with a hopeful declaration: “CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!”

Qatar has condemned the missile strike and confirmed that its defense systems intercepted incoming threats. According to New York Post, Qatari officials allowed limited targeting to occur in order to help Iran “save face” without triggering a broader conflict.

The situation remains under close watch as regional powers consider the potential for further diplomatic engagement following the symbolic but carefully calibrated exchange.
