Marion “Suge” Knight, the imprisoned co-founder of Death Row Records, made headlines this week with explosive comments about music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. In a recent interview from prison, Knight suggested that Combs, currently facing mounting legal troubles, could potentially influence a jury due to his wealth and far-reaching influence.
Knight, who is serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, implied that Combs’ power in the entertainment industry and political connections might allow him to avoid conviction, even if prosecutors bring forward strong evidence.
“If he does get convicted,” Knight added, “he’s still got Trump. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a pardon.”
Knight’s mention of former President Donald Trump stirred speculation online, with some interpreting the comment as a nod to the pardons Trump issued to high-profile figures including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
Neither Combs nor Trump has publicly responded to Knight’s remarks. Legal experts remain skeptical of the claim, noting that presidential pardons are not typically issued in cases lacking significant political or legal precedent.
Combs has been under scrutiny in recent months amid federal investigations, but no formal charges have been filed as of this report.
