Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he is unlikely to participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, despite receiving multiple invitations and proposals from interested clubs.

Speaking candidly, the Portuguese star stated, “It’s practically decided—I will not be at the Club World Cup.” Ronaldo acknowledged that there had been discussions and approaches from various sides but emphasized that strategic career planning is now his priority.

“There have been talks, contacts… but you can’t be at all competitions. You’ve got to think about the short, medium, and long term,” he explained. “So despite the approaches, the decision is almost made on my side.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s remarks suggest a clear leaning toward focusing on personal fitness, club commitments, and long-term goals rather than adding another high-profile tournament to his packed calendar.

Ronaldo’s absence would be notable, as the newly expanded Club World Cup in 2025 is set to be a marquee event, featuring top teams from across the globe. However, the veteran forward appears to be prioritizing sustainability over spectacle at this stage in his illustrious career.
