According to TMZ,U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering commuting the 50-month prison sentence of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was convicted for violating the Mann Act. The decision could be announced as early as this week, following a formal request submitted by Diddy’s legal team shortly after his October 3, 2025, sentencing.

A senior White House official told TMZ that Trump has been “vacillating” over the decision despite opposition from some of his advisors, adding, “Trump will do what he wants to do.”

Diddy has already served 13 months of his sentence and could have been eligible for early release in about two years for good behavior. However, if Trump grants clemency, Diddy would be released immediately.

Trump publicly acknowledged receiving the request on October 6, referring to the rapper by his former stage name “Puff Daddy” and stating, “A lot of people have sent me pardon requests.”

This development comes just days after Trump commuted the 87-month prison sentence of former Congressman George Santos, who was convicted of fraud on October 18 a move that has drawn both praise and criticism.

The potential pardon is particularly notable given that Diddy endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
