Barcelona president Joan Laporta has officially confirmed plans to build a statue of club legend Lionel Messi at the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
“We’re planning to build Leo Messi’s statue at the new stadium,” Laporta announced. “We want Messi to have a statue outside Spotify Camp Nou as soon as possible we will work on a design for it.”
Laporta emphasized that the tribute will be a lasting symbol of Messi’s legacy at the club, noting that the project will proceed with full approval from Messi and his family.
“Messi deserves a statue, and we will make sure it becomes a reality. It’s important that Lionel and his family also agree to this,” he added.
The initiative is part of Barcelona’s broader effort to honor the Argentine icon, who won 34 trophies with the club, including four Champions League titles and ten La Liga championships, cementing his status as the greatest player in Barça’s history.
