Constructed at a cost of $2.3 billion, the Sphere features a 160,000-square-foot interior LED screen with a 16K resolution, offering an unparalleled visual experience. The venue’s exterior is adorned with over 1.2 million LED lights, making it the largest LED screen globally.
The Sphere’s audio system, known as “Sphere Immersive Sound,” comprises 1,586 permanently installed speakers and 300 mobile modules, totaling 167,000 speaker drivers. This system utilizes advanced technologies like beamforming and wave field synthesis to deliver precise and immersive sound experiences.
Enhancing the sensory experience, 10,000 of the venue’s seats are equipped with haptic technology, allowing attendees to feel vibrations, wind, and even scents, aligning physical sensations with on-screen content.
On September 14, 2024, the Sphere hosted UFC 306, marking its first sporting event. The event featured innovative elements such as real-time heart rate monitoring displayed on the massive screen, haptic feedback in seats to simulate fight impacts, and immersive visual backdrops during matches.
