American R&B singer Chris Brown has reportedly been arrested at a hotel in Manchester, United Kingdom, after officers from the Metropolitan Police discovered he had entered the country via private jet.
The arrest is linked to an incident from 2023 in which Brown allegedly assaulted London-based music producer Abe Diaw with a wine bottle at Tape nightclub. The attack reportedly left Diaw unconscious and severely injured.
According to police reports, Brown failed to attend a scheduled interview with authorities on March 29, 2023, and left the UK shortly after completing his tour, which caused delays in the investigation.
Brown is currently being held for questioning. Meanwhile, Abe Diaw has filed a civil lawsuit against the artist, seeking $16 million in damages for the injuries and losses he claims to have suffered.
